The Shadow Fabric - official cover reveal

My debut novel, The Shadow Fabric, will be hitting the shelves in time for Halloween 2014. I have a proof copy of the paperback beside me right now.

The image above is for the digital version (available on Kindle pre-order), whereas the print version has a slightly darker, more sinister cover beneath a matte finish. It's the same design, only with heavier shadows. Incidentally, to hold the hard copy of a project I've been hacking at for over three years is bloody great. And now it's time to let the world read it.

Published through Herbs House, the novel is up on Amazon for Kindle pre-order and if you grab it now, it'll be downloaded direct to your device on Halloween...on the day the dead walk.

You'll Die Laughing - Trading Cards from 1959

Back in 1959, Topps released a set of monster trading cards, illustrated by the EC horror comics/MAD magazine artist Jack Davis. The set was called, “You’ll Die Laughing.”

These trading card images are fun. They made me smile, so I thought I'd share them.

My novel, The Shadow Fabric, doesn't feature any snappy one-liners, nor does it include these kind of ghouls...yet still it belongs in the same category: horror. My debut novel is a supernatural tale of sins, shadows, and the reanimated dead. It's a story churning up an unknown history in witchcraft and the true cause of the Great Fire of London.

The word 'reanimatedsurely means zombies! I hear you say.

Not quite, the reanimated dead are much, much different and The Shadow Fabric proves how. Indeed, the Fabric proves why...

Sample cover

Here's the blurb:

Shadows folded on my periphery. They snaked around furniture and drooped from the ceiling. Darkness closed in…

Leo remembers little of his past. Desperate for a new life, he snatches up the first job to come along. On his second day, he witnesses a murder, and the Shadow Fabric – a malevolent force that controls the darkness – takes the body and vanishes with it. Uncovering secrets long hidden from humankind, Leo’s memory unravels. Not only haunted by the past, a sinister presence within the darkness threatens his existence and he soon doubts everything and everyone . . . including himself.

Now Leo must confront the truth about his past before he can embrace his future. But the future may not exist.

THE SHADOW FABRIC is a story revealing the unknown history of witchcraft and the true cause of the Great Fire of London. A supernatural horror novel of sins, shadows, and the reanimated dead.
